Thoughts on:
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7
Reflection:
Anxiety can resemble a never-ending tempest, hindering our ability to breathe and think clearly. Our fears make us feel alone, but the Bible tells us that God cares deeply about all of them, no matter how big or small. He wants us to give Him our troubling thoughts. Giving up does not mean our fear goes away right away, but it does mean we do not have to carry it alone. We can practice putting our worries in His hands every time they come up, believing that His care is bigger than our fear.
Prayer:
Lord, my heart feels heavy with worries I cannot control. You remind me that I do not have to carry this burden alone. Help me to release each anxious thought to You and rest in Your peace. Amen.
Journaling Prompt:
What specific fears am I holding onto today?
What would it look like to hand those fears over to God?
Affirmation:
I am not defined by my anxiety. God cares for me and holds my peace.
